The Inner Workings of a Creative Mind

I have toyed with the idea of writing a blog for a few years.  I even had one for a little while when E was born but just didn't stick with it.  For me, writing about myself doesn't come easy.  I spend hours contemplating what to write about and thinking about what others might want to read.  Coincidentally, my problem is not coming up with ideas.  I have ideas coming out of my you know what.  It's honing in on those ideas and making a cohesive post that is time consuming, and therefore I often just give up.  So bear with me during my blogging experimentation!

Just so you know how my mind works, here is how I spent the last hour.... I truly think I need some Ritalin:

  • open computer, check FB and Gmail
  • while FB is loading, turn on embroidery machine and find USB stick
  • forget about FB and email and load design on USB stick
  • Oh yeah, I was going to check FB
  • Read and begin to compose an email on FB
  • toggle over to Gmail and look at photos of Elise and email Courtney
  • Oh yeah I was going to embroider something...mark out shirt for embroidering
  • Hoop my shirt and cut fabric
  • Oh I wanted to see if Ana-White.com had any trundle bed plans, head on over to her site.
  • Crap, I forgot about my email I was composing on FB (coincidentally, I still haven't finished it)
  • I REALLY need to start this shirt.  Start the shirt, work on it for 5 minutes, then...
  • back to FB
  • Google characteristics of creative people
  • think about ideas for my blog, open my blog
  • go back to Ana White's page and email Jay designs for a trundle bed
  • which leads me to look for a vanity for E on Craigslist
  • No vanity...back to Embroidering
  • open HULU and watch Bachelor Pad
  • finish embroidering shirt and...
  • back to the blog!
This is why it takes me 3x as long as a normal person to get anything done!
