The short life of Little Lola's Lovlies

Some of you may wonder about the namesake of this blog.  Back in April I came across the best purchase I have ever made.  My wonderful mother  spotted a really great deal on an embroidery machine, and having wanted one for at least a year or two, I knew the price was too good to beat and my loving husband gave me the go ahead and splurge.  I spent the next few weeks learning about embroidery and applique and eventually decided to start a little business out of my home.  Little Lola's Lovelies is still a work in progress.  I am continuously learning new things (a special thanks to my friend Lynne who has taught me everything!) and coming up with new ideas.  I love to see other people excited about my things and for once I feel really good at something, and that's important.  My friend Lacy and I were just saying the other day, how we felt like we were mediocre at a lot of things but didn't excel at any one thing in particular.  I have always felt I would find my niche with something in the art world, and it just so happens that mine is sewing, and I am totally fine with that!

I really feel like I've come a long way in such a short time.  Here is my first attempt at applique after teaching myself, followed by one of my latest.

I am so happy to be doing this and keep looking for opportunities to allow me to expand my business.  Thanks to all of my friends and family that have supported me in this endeavor!
